She smiled at him, following his lead to her room. The birds sang cheerfully in the trees above them and the vibrant tropical flowers smelled lovely. A slight breeze kept the bright sun from being to warm. When they reached her room, she stepped inside as he held the door for her. "It's very lovely," she said with a smile, "Thank you so much," she added in response to him setting her bag in the room. "I would love to have dinner with you and Aunt Igrat while I am here, and maybe relax on the beach with some tropical drinks."
She returned her uncle’s tight hug that he wrapped her in the moment he got close to her. A little time away to catch up would be a great mini vacation. Since she had his package tight in her grip so nothing would happen to the irreplaceable piece, she handed it to him. He could open it at his leisure, but she was happy to relinquish it to his care. “It is beautiful here, Uncle Mark,” she said with a smile, “I look forward to relaxing and catching up with you after I have had some time to freshen up. Thank you for inviting me.”
She leaned back in her seat to take a rest during the flight. Her uncle said he was meeting her so she had nothing to worry about or plan. Her eyes closed in hopes of taking a nap while her hands held onto her bag containing his package very tightly. She couldn't wait to see the reactions of her uncle and the intended when they saw the piece. But her understanding was that her uncle had a touch of his own to add to it before it was presented to the recipient.
It seemed to be only a moment before the announcement was made that they were landing. Sleep will make time fly as they say. Fatema quickly grabbed her bags and exited the plane, taking note of the bright sunshine outside. "This will be a fun break from it all," she said to herself while watching for her uncle.
She ran her fingertip over a very large rare blue diamond worth many millions of dollars. “This rare beauty will be perfect,” she said to herself. Giving it to the jewelers, they cut, polished and set the stone while she watched over them. Fatema wanted to be sure nothing happened to the one of a kind stone that would be given to a one of a kind woman. The setting was simple, accented by a diamond on either side, since the blue diamond was so impressive. She placed the finished product into a display box and called her uncle. Reaching his voicemail, she left him a message. “Your item awaits pickup,” she said, not wanting to give to many details in case someone else heard the message. She then went to pack a bag for a trip to her Uncle Mark’s destination.
“No, that’s quite alright,” she said with a shake of her head, “ I wouldn’t think of taking anything for it, maybe sometime I will be in need of something from ShadowStar. I’m glad that you are relaxing and I will be in touch very soon. Talk to you later, Uncle Mark.” With that, she hung up and began drawing some ideas for the piece. She then took her ideas to the jewelers so that they could begin making it while she picked out the perfect stones.
Fatema listened to her uncle explaining what he wanted, her head nodding slightly. “I will attend to the piece personally, Uncle Mark. I definitely will make the time to do something for family.” She was already picturing some of the diamonds in her possession, mentally sizing them up to decide which would look the best. “I will get back to you when it’s finished so that we can further discuss delivery. I hope you are having a great mini vacation?”
Carefully she looked over the prototypes that had been created for her Aunt Igrat by her jewelers. Each piece looked flawless in design and she had to give it to her Aunt for coming up with the idea. There was no rush on completion since Igrat was currently on a small holiday somewhere. She had told Fatema that she would let her know when to send the pieces to her. Igrat was a little nervous for someone else to get a look at them before she was able to present her idea to ShadowStar.
Just then her cell phone rang, so she put down the piece in her hand to answer the call from her uncle. “Hello, Uncle Mark,” she answered, “I am doing well, and you?” She listened to him explain about another project intently. “Tell me what you have in mind,” she said, writing down notes as he spoke. “I would be honored to do that for you,” she said, “Just give me the address of where to deliver it when it’s finished.”
Igrat breathed a sigh of relief that the security system had not gone off for whatever reason. But she also made a mental note to discuss that with Mark to see if it was a flaw in the system or if it was advanced enough to know that the weapons were no danger unless they were in her hand. She picked up her things and waited for her brother to go through the check point. Her mind also began thinking of a better way to get people through faster.
Instead of handing belongings over to be scanned, the scanners could be enlarged and set on each side of the walkways where they had to pass through. Then the officers could watch the monitor and see a skeletal image of the person and their belongings as they waked along. There could be multiple walkways and each officer could watch 2 monitors. If the scanners were from the floor to say 8 tall and made of unbreakable material, there could be a door at each end that the officers could release to trap someone needing detained inside.
As soon as Mark was finished, Igrat followed him to the elevators that would take them to his office. She remembered this from her last trip. He held the door for her to enter, which she did with a Thank you. She then moved to the back wall to stand.
Igrat was grateful for her brothers concern, she knew that he cared for her. But the only person whos opinion mattered to her was his, she could care less what anyone else thought. She believed there was a market for her idea since the demonstration products were her personal items, each programmed to her specifically. She had worked on them after being attacked to help ensure she would have the upper hand should it ever happen again.
She was a little nervous about placing her handbag on the table to be scanned when they walked in the main door. Obviously everything inside was a weapon, that was why she was doing the presentation. But since each item was cleverly disguised as a common item, she hoped that nothing would trigger any alarms. Or else her brother might have to do some fast talking to get the items through.
His comment of imagining everyone naked made her smile. There was one person she would like to see naked, but she didnt think that would be necessary. She believed in her product to much to be nervous.
During the limo ride to ShadowStar, Igrat busied herself on her phone with employees at the Hells Inquirer. She was used to running the tabloid away from her office. Fatema also sent her a few pictures of current pieces to give Igrat some idea of her companys workmanship. Igrat was looking forward to meeting to discuss things more in depth.
She smiled at her brother upon his question. I have gone over everything, I just hope that your company sees a market for my ideas. At that moment the limo pulled into the parking lot where they exited the car to be greeted by his staff. Igrat remembered how helpful they had been with the creation of the dolls, and recognized a few of the staff. But she was very anxious to get inside and begin her presentation.
